Answers to Your Questions
How far is The Lost Loggerhead from the beach?
About 500 feet, a 2 to 3-minute walk to the nearest public beach access on Hatteras Island. It’s not oceanfront, but you’re on the sand in under five minutes, and the top-floor deck has ocean views of the Atlantic and sunset views over the Pamlico Sound.
What's included with the house? Do I need to rent beach gear?
No. Over $1,100 worth of gear is already on-site: 3 surfboards, 4 boogie boards, 2 stand-up paddleboards, 4 beach bikes, plus chairs, an umbrella, and a wagon. The kitchen is fully stocked with an oven, air fryer, dishwasher, blender, crock pot, and coffee, tea, and spices. There’s also a washer and dryer, so you can skip most rental costs.
How many people can stay, and what's the bed setup?
The home sleeps up to 10 across 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with 8 beds total. Each of the four named rooms (Master Suite, Shark Room, Surf Shack, Bunk House) has a queen bed. It suits families, friend groups, or a quieter Outer Banks escape.
Do you have an EV charger and outdoor space?
Yes. The property has an EV charging plug. Outside, there’s a third-floor ocean-view deck, a new fire pit for s’mores, and both gas and charcoal grills. Inside, there’s an electric fireplace, Xbox and smart TV, plus giant Jenga and Connect 4 for downtime.
Can I work remotely from the house?
Yes. There’s a dedicated workspace with a desk, reliable wifi, and a printer, so checking in for work is doable if you have to.
What's nearby in Avon?
You’re under half a mile from a grocery store and local shops, close to the Avon Fishing Pier and charter boats, and about a mile from a top-rated East Coast kitesurfing spot. It’s a short drive to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the Ocracoke ferry. The street is quiet and mostly home to full-time residents, not a party area.
